A Tribute to my Mom, Susanna Van Zyl

This is a tribute to my mom, Sannie Van Zyl who passed away on the 30th September 2018. She will leave a big gap in our lives.

Mom, we are so sad that you left us – you will leave a big gap in our lives – we will miss you but we have all the good memories you left us with. Those of us that shared the last few days with you here on earth know that you have suffered a lot but now you are without pain and in a better place with God.

Mom, God gave you so many talents and you used them all:  I will remember you for:

  • the beautiful toys you made
  • your beautiful garden
  • your lovely singing voice

Mom, I will remember your kind nature and your Christian way of life. You were always such a positive person (sometimes too positive for your own good), always smiled and ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need.

May you rest in peace.

Our Positive and Negative Mind

(Taken from the book: Power, Freedom and Grace by Deepak Chopra)

We all experience mind switches throughout our day. Our minds can take in a lot of information every second, every minute, and hour of the day. We gather negative and positive interpretations in our minds.

A negative mind is an interpretation and a positive mind is also an interpretation.

It can both be a turbulent mind. We can switch over from one to the other very quickly.

You can be courageous the one minute then become fearful the next. Love can transform into jealousy before you know it!

The important thing to attain a positive mind is to be silent. A silent mind is a positive mind.

We can learn to go beyond our positive and negative mind; we then become silent, non-judgemental, non-analytical, and non-interpretive.

We become the silent witness when we experience inner silence. In purity of silence we feel connected to our source and to everything around us.
