Galileo Galilei

Galileo was one of the first modern scientists, because he used the experimental method to find out how the world worked.

Rather than trying to decide whether or not his ideas lined up with philosophy, Galileo made theories about the world and then tested them through doing experiments.

Measure what is measurable,’ he once said, ‘and if something cannot be measured, figure out how it can be.

All life is an experiment – Ralp Waldo Emerson

“Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions.

All life is an experiment.

The more experiments you make the better.

What if they are a little coarse and you may get your coat soiled or torn?

What if you do fail, and get fairly rolled in the dirt once or twice?

Up again, you shall never be so afraid of a tumble”
