In the face of so much change by Bernardiem Ribiero

In the face of so much change,
what can I be sure of?
Rather dubious hopes,
certain misadventure.

I wave on these disillusions
in my long, useless illusion.
Time and age have given me
a different set of concerns.

I’m tired of change.
I prefer a pain that’s secure.
Vain hopes are for those
unaware of what they risk.
